In celebration of the community on the 212 corridor from Bolivar to Zoarville, the Zoar View Foundation will kick off the second annual Sparks of Giving community fundraiser and celebration.

Through July 15 community partners, businesses and residents will participate in efforts to raise funds to support local charities.

Participating establishments include the Mash Factory, Boone Creek Pizza, Massarelli Baseball, Lockport Brewery, Ruritans, Sublime Smoke, Kickin’ Bar and Entertainment, Bolivar Mainstreet Association, Tusky Valley Boosters, Bolivar Fire Department, Holy Trinity Church, Zoar Golf Club, and Wilkshire Golf Course.

This effort will culminate Saturday, July 15 with a full evening of festivities throughout the community and the largest fireworks display in Northeast Ohio.

The Zoar View Foundation, established by Kyle and Samantha Quillen, was created to improve the lives of individuals and families in Tuscarawas County by supporting programs and initiatives that promote education, health and wellness and strengthen communities.

Sparks of Giving is the primary event now held annually to raise funds for social and family service organizations and celebrate the communities they serve.

“We are extremely excited to host the Sparks of Giving event for the second year. After the success of the event in 2022, we believe we’ve created a sustainable event that will raise significant funds to support charity organizations in Tuscarawas County and engage the community in a celebration they can look forward to year after year,” Samantha Quillen said.

There will be three primary viewing areas this year: the Zoar View Field, Zoar Golf Course and Holy Trinity Church. The Zoar View Field is a new location this year at 7895 Dover-Zoar Road. Each of these locations has been vetted for the best visibility as part of test shoots that were performed in advance of the event.

“We learned a lot from the inaugural year of the Sparks event and have worked hard to make enhancements that will create a more enjoyable experience for everyone,” Zoar View Foundation President Kyle Quillen said.

Each viewing area will have festivities set up for guests. The Zoar View Field, which will be the largest of the three viewing areas, will have Boone Creek Pizza, the Ruritan Food Truck, a beer garden sponsored by Lockport Brewery, Zoomies Zoo petting zoo and other family activities. Local musician Zac Pirillo will perform a two-hour concert onsite, and parking will be managed by the Tusky Valley Boosters. Holy Trinity will have live music, food and family-friendly activities.

Andy Donaldson Photography will capture the festivities, and fundraising efforts will be added from now until the day of the event.
