Joy Zemrock

Join the Friends of the Loudonville Library on Nov. 6 at 2 p.m. to hear Joy Zemrock speak about Growing with the Library, 1993-2023.

Attendees will learn about the process of automating a library and then doing it again as a migration to a new system occurred while the building was undergoing a huge expansion. Attendees will get an insider’s view of how the library works, why materials are moved around a lot and more.

Zemrock has been involved with libraries since fourth grade as a student volunteer at the Shreve Elementary School Library. She continued volunteering throughout grade school, junior high and high school.

After her children were born, the library was a focal point in their lives. She became a board of trustees member at the Loudonville Library in the early 1990s. She resigned from the board to become the assistant to the children’s librarian beginning Oct. 3, 1993.

Several years later she advanced to the reference, interlibrary loan and adult services librarian position and has been focused on these areas ever since.

The meeting will be held in the lower level of the library and is open to the public.
