Warther to present book at the library

Author David Warther will present his book, “Working in Ivory: The Story of the Warther Carvers,” on Monday, Sept. 11 at 6:30 p.m. at Dover Public Library.
In the book Warther tells the Warther family history back to the early 1800s. The story relates to the carvings the family is known for and the knife factory. The story includes Dover history, and being a chronology, it incorporates events in the national time line as well.
The story and presentation will bring Mooney Warther’s life into perspective, showing the hardships and problems he endured and the good times. A Dover historian and family friend described the book as being honest with a sparkle of humor about the life and times of five generations of a family living on two continents over the course of two centuries.
This program will be held in front of the fireplace at the DPL, 525 N. Walnut St., Dover. Register online at www.doverlibrary.org/events or call the library at 330-343-6123.
