Sugarcreek Village Council agreed a $20,000 Ohio Ambulance Grant the fire department received will be used toward the payment of a new ambulance that has been ordered.

During the Aug. 21 meeting, village administrator Kevin Kaser told council the paving that began on Edelweiss Drive on Aug. 22 will continue next week.

Council also did the following:

—Rejected a bid to construct an expansion to the sewer plant garage for storage purposes. The bid was over the 10% permitted by law. Council tabled the matter for the present time.

—Heard a property owned by Tim Brown located on Boston Street will be cleaned up prior to the Ohio Swiss Festival Sept. 28-30.

—Discussed an empty lot located behind Speedway on U.S. 39 needs mowed.

Other information

Hydrants will be flushed Aug. 27-30 beginning at 10 p.m.

Council set a finance personnel and audit committee meeting for Sept. 11 at 6 p.m. in Village Hall.

The next meeting will be held Sept. 11 at 6 p.m. in Village Hall, 410 S. Broadway. The Sept. 4 meeting was canceled due to Labor Day.
