UWWH holding Dolly Parton Imagination Library fundraisers

The United Way of Wayne and Holmes Counties (UWWH) will be on-air June 20 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. with the on-air personalities of WKLM FM raising money and awareness for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.
United Way Wayne and Holmes Counties is the local program partner with Imagination Library of Ohio and Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, a free book gifting program, where children from 0-5 can be enrolled to receive one book per month up to their 5th birthday. The books are age appropriate, new and addressed to the child. If enrolled at birth, the child will go to kindergarten with a personal library of 60 books.
Call in to the station at 330-674-1953 make a donation and request your favorite – appropriate – song, and 100% of the proceeds will support children enrolled in Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.
The Blue Moon Bistro food truck will be set up at Millersburg Tire from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and you can make a donation while eating lunch.
Millersburg Tire will be donating $60 to the Imagination Library for every set of passenger tires sold on June 20, so you can eat lunch, get new tires and support literacy in Holmes County.
A $26 donation supports one child for one year.
July 25 event
The United Way of Wayne and Holmes Counties will host also host a ladies night fundraiser on July 25 at the Stables at Arrowhead Lakes in Millersburg.
Round up your besties and get ready for a night of competition, music, food, fun and prizes. Tables of eight are being sold for $400, and the space is limited. Choose a theme for your table and dress accordingly — if you so desire. The goal of the evening is to round up the most rhinestones through a variety of challenges.
United Way Wayne and Holmes financially supports over 1,500 children in Holmes County by sending one book per month to the enrolled children. The program is offered at no cost to families. While Dolly Parton makes the books affordable, United Way Wayne and Holmes picks up the tab for the remaining costs and receives a 50% match from the Imagination Library of Ohio. By attending this event, you are supporting literacy, kindergarten readiness and family bonding opportunities for families across Holmes County.
