The Shreve branch of the Wayne County Public Library has the following programs and activities scheduled in September:

Story and play time

On Thursday, Sept. 7 from 10:30-11:30 a.m., join Hannah for a short story and play time. This is for kids age 3 and under, but caretakers must stay with children.

Paws to Read with Rosie Cotton

On Wednesday, Sept. 27 from 3:30-5 p.m., come read to therapy dog Rosie Cotton. This is for children up to age 12.

Make it, take it crafts

On Wednesday, Sept. 13, stop in and make a craft. This is for children of all ages.

Junior Bookworm Book Club

On Wednesday, Sept. 27 from 3:15-4 p.m., the book club will meet. Each session will include an activity or a craft. Registration for second grade through fourth grade is required. “The Bad Guys” by Aaron Blabey is the book.

Bookworm Book Club

On Wednesday, Sept. 27 from 4-4:45 p.m., the book club will meet. Each session will include an activity or a craft. Registration for fourth grade through sixth grade is required. “Ride On”by Faith Erin Hicks is the book.

Apple Tasting

On Thursday, Sept. 28 from 3:30-4:30 p.m., join in and taste test a variety of different apple types. Registration for families is required.

Shreve Knitting/Crocheting Circle

Mondays from 5-7:30 p.m. and Thursdays, Sept. 21, Oct. 19 and Nov. 16 from 1-3 p.m., bring your knitting or crocheting project or pattern. Beginners are welcome. Group members are available to assist with troublesome projects. This is for adults age 18 and up.

Crafting at Home

Sept. 15, Oct. 2 and 16, and Nov. 1 and 15, take home a kit and make a simple craft. Kits will include supplies and instructions. This is for adults age 18 and up with one kit per adult. Kits are available at the beginning of each month on a first come, first served basis.

Plant Exchange

On Friday, Sept. 8 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., drop off your plants. On Saturday, Sept. 9 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., exchange plants. Bring your divided perennials, house plants and seedlings with identifying labels to share and swap.

Yoga

On Tuesday, Sept. 12 from 6-7 p.m., take time to breathe with some yoga. This class will be appropriate for all ages and skill levels and will begin with chair yoga. Feel free to bring a yoga mat, but it’s not required. Registration is required.

Decorating with Pressed Flowers

On Saturday, Sept. 30 from noon to 1:30 p.m., Rhonda will demonstrate how to decorate recycled glass containers with pressed flowers. Bring pressed flowers from your garden or use some of the library’s. Supplies will be furnished. Registration is required.
