Salva-Reans can help guide Wooster into the future

Letter to the Editor,
Five years ago my wife and I were looking to buy a house in an Ohio rural town, having retired and wanting out of suburban Detroit. LuK was my only link to Wooster, and I liked the countryside. There was a house in Wooster we liked, but it needed much work, so we looked in other neighboring cities, only to return to that house in Wooster.
Shortly after buying that home, I met Mary Salva-Reans and her husband Doug while walking. Many people in Wooster have become our friends and made us happier just knowing them. Mary is one such person and happens to be running for mayor. We met last week as I wanted to hear why she would want such a vital and demanding job.
She told me Wooster is growing and she has a passion to help guide her hometown into the future. I feel the incumbent has done a good job and recognize what’s happening in Wooster’s growth. The heavy traffic is testament to this.
Mary said because of what’s happening with growth and to entice more growth, her time is now to give back to Wooster. She is enthusiastic to give 24/7 toward keeping and making Wooster a great place to live.
Managing my business required a 24/7 mentality to be effective. It is Mary’s passion for wanting to take on such a demanding job as Wooster’s mayor that most impressed me. Mary showed me a thick binder of classwork structure in city management; this preparation to gain more knowledge of city management is just one sign of Mary’s mission to be mayor.
This is a term-limit election where the development direction of Wooster needs to remain on track and beyond with Mary’s teamwork and leadership. Mary has the work ethic and capability to oversee the administration of local government, closely manage Wooster’s budget, and ensure public safety, transportation, affordable housing and utility services are provided. Please join me in voting for Mary Salva-Reans, Independent, for mayor. Thank you.
