Planes, pancakes at airport Sept. 16

Chapter 846, a local chapter of the Experimental Aircraft Association, will showcase its airplanes and serve a full pancake breakfast on Saturday, Sept. 16 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Wayne County Airport.
Chapter members will have their aircraft on display, and more planes will fly in to join. From airplanes made by Cessna and classic airplanes like the Piper Cub to planes made entirely by hand, there will be lots to see.
A pancake breakfast including sausage, eggs and coffee or juice can be purchased all morning. All funds raised during the event will go to support the chapter and its activities. The chapter promotes all facets of aviation by presenting programs and activities.
In addition, the chapter offers scholarships to young people to learn to fly and participates in the national Young Eagles program. As a Young Eagle, youth are introduced to aviation by experiencing it first-hand. Members give each child a brief ground school, followed by free flights in members’ aircraft.
