Neel ready to make impact with Holmes 4-H
Sarah Neel has become the newest member of the Holmes County Ohio State University Extension, where she will perform an array of duties.

The staff at Holmes County Ohio State University Extension brought a new face on board recently with the hiring of Sarah Neel, who took on the role of assistant office manager Ashley Gerber.

Neel began her career with the extension in July and hit the ground running by diving into plenty of Holmes County Fair activities, easing the workload of the staff that shares the task of preparing a multitude of activities and programs for the fair.

Neel said she will help with everyday operations in the office and is eager to help the office pursue new programs while maintaining the many it already hosts through Holmes County 4-H.

“We feel very blessed and excited to have the fortune of bringing Sarah on board,” said Janessa Hill, Holmes OSU Extension program director. “She brings a lot of great qualities to our team, and she has fit right in and is making life easier for all of us.”

Neel grew up on a dairy farm in Richland County, where she still lives today, and has spent countless hours with her barrel horses. She married her high school sweetheart, and they have one daughter, Kennedy.

“I was born and raised on a dairy farm, and we now sell market Holsteins,” Neel said. “That’s where I started in 4-H. I started with the extension office right before the fair, so it has been a whirlwind of people and activities, but I’m excited to be here.”

Hill said they encourage everyone to stop by the office located beside the courthouse and say hello to their newest member.
