The Holmes Center for the Arts summer musical, the award-winning “Guys and Dolls,” will be performed at Ohio Star Theater on July 21 at 2 p.m., July 22 at 2 and 7 p.m., and July 23 at 2 p.m.

Starring local actors Ethan Hershberger as Nathan Detroit, Rachel Miller as Miss Adelaids, Mitchell Hochsteltler as Sky Masterson and Ellie Zumbach-Harper as Sarah Brown, this show gambles with luck and love under the bright lights of Broadway.

“Guys and Dolls” ran for 1,200 performances when it opened on Broadway in 1950. It received nearly unanimous positive reviews from critics and won a bevy of awards including Tony Awards, Drama Desks and Oliviers.

Grady Suggs, Jr. is the director for “Guys and Dolls.”This is his first time directing a musical. Suggs has performed with Holmes Center for the Arts twice before — as Professor Bhaer in “Little Women” and as Uncle Drosselmeyer in “The Nutcracker” — and has been a lover of theater and music since high school. He continued on and performed on stage in Friday Night Live at Indiana Wesleyan University and currently helps coach the youth drama team at Wooster Church of the Nazarene.
