Gardeners are recognized

On Tuesday, Sept. 12, Judy Clegg, master gardener of New Philadelphia, and Trudy Brown of Dover received the Canton Garden Center 2023 Beautification Award of Excellence in the Owner Developed and Maintained Residential Division category.

The Sacred Heart Catholic Church in New Philadelphia won the 2023 Beautification Award of Excellence in the Commercial Division category. The certificates of recognition were presented by Carol Davidson, president of the Canton Garden Center, at a luncheon held at the Canton Garden Center.

After being nominated, in order to determine the 2023 winners, the judges followed standards and guidelines issued by the National Council of State Garden Clubs Inc. and the Garden Club of Ohio.
