East Holmes gearing up for first day school Aug. 16

The first full day of school for East Holmes Schools students will be Wednesday, Aug. 16.
Any parents with children attending East Holmes Schools for the first time and who have not registered them should do so as soon as possible. Buildings are open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
High school or middle school students should register at Hiland High School. Flat Ridge Elementary students should register at Wise Elementary. All other East Holmes elementary students should register at the appropriate building.
Parents will need their child’s birth certificate, immunization records and proof of residency to register. Any questions should be directed to the elementary building nearest the parents’ home or Hiland High School if applicable.
East Holmes Schools is using a notification system to inform parents of school closings, emergencies and events. If a parent has not previously completed an All Call form, these are available from the secretary of their school or on the East Holmes Schools website at www.eastholmes.org under the Parents & Students link, Forms, All Call Notifications. This will allow parents to receive a telephone call, text message or email notice.
Details will be provided to parents by the individual building principal concerning schedules and teacher assignments.
All kindergarten students will be picked up and returned home on the regular bus routes beginning Aug. 21. Kindergarten students will attend, by appointment only, Aug. 16-18. Additional details will be communicated by each building.
