Downtown Sidewalk Sales Aug. 5 in Loudonville

Anyone looking for a good deal might want to visit downtown Loudonville on Aug. 5.

The annual Downtown Sidewalk Sales will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with numerous downtown Loudonville businesses offering discounted items.

“The goal (of the Downtown Sidewalk Sales) is to try to get people to come downtown (and) check out the restaurants and the different stores and that kind of stuff and just getting people to come down to the area (and) get some deals,” said Valerie Spreng, Loudonville Chamber of Commerce executive director.

Spreng said a lot of people come shop in Loudonville on Saturdays throughout the year, but the Downtown Sidewalk Sales provides an extra boost to the area.

“Usually, Saturdays are busy anyway with people checking out the different types of stores downtown because we do have some different types of stores,” Spreng said, “so a lot of times on the weekend it’s busy already, but this usually helps with bringing a few more people in town.”

With a unique assortment of stores and restaurants, a little bit of everything will be offered during the Downtown Sidewalk Sales.

“(It’s) just getting people to come out and businesses may be trying to get rid of stuff they’ve been trying to get rid of for a while and put it on sale or something like that,” Spreng said. “It’s something fun to get out and do, have some lunch, and do some shopping.”
