Autumn Discovery Day plant sale Oct. 7 at Secrest

Autumn Discovery Day plant sale will be held rain or shine on Saturday, Oct. 7 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Secrest Welcome and Education Center, 2122 Williams Road, Wooster.

Dozens of rare trees and shrubs will be offered at the sale, along with some regional standbys. There also will be a handful of perennials. For a complete list of plants, visit www.friendsofsecrest.com/plant-sale-list.

Plants for the sale were selected by Secrest Arboretum staff and include some of their longtime favorites:

—Oriental spicebush.

—Winter red winterberry holly.

—Common witchhazel.

—Leadplant.

—Dawn redwood.

—Weeping katsura tree.

Members of Friends of Secrest will have first dibs at an exclusive presale on Friday, Oct. 6 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Members get 10% off. Membership information is available on the Friends of Secrest website.
