Dover native Joe Warther will perform from his accordion in a program titled The World Needs Some Happy Music on Thursday, Aug. 10 at 6:30 p.m.

He will talk about the history of the accordion and his musical journey from Dover to Myrtle Beach, where he provides live entertainment at several restaurants.

Warther also has invited a guest to join him for the evening. Dave Pensy of Magnolia has been Warther’s teacher for many years. Pensy is not only a master of the accordion, but he also composes music. Together Pensy and Warther will perform several of Pensy’s original compositions.

This program will be held in the community room at the Dover Public Library, 525 N. Walnut St. Register by visiting www.doverlibrary.org/events or calling the library at 330-343-6123.
