The Tuscarawas Valley Farmers Market, in partnership with the Commercial & Savings Bank, will host a Kids Day on Wednesday, July 12 from 3-7 p.m. at the Tuscarawas County Fairgrounds in Dover.

The producers-only market will have local vendors from within 50 miles of the Dover/New Philadelphia area offering products like fruit, vegetables, eggs, meat, baked goods, dairy products, honey, maple syrup, popcorn, plants, candied nuts, cold beverages, dry seasonings, gourmet mushrooms, wine, macarons, cotton candy, natural body products and more.

Staff members from the Commercial & Savings Bank will offer various kids activities at their table including a scavenger hunt with prizes for those who complete it, a “Find the Pig” game where kids will try to find one of five piggy banks filled with goodies that are hidden somewhere at the market, free caricatures by Greg Scott and free goodie items.

Shoppers can purchase a meal from the Three Lil Piggies BBQ food truck, which will be set up at the market during Kids Day. There will be a pickling and fermentation demonstration with Karen Geiser of Lehman’s at 5 p.m. inside the Clover Café, and the band Potluck will perform from 5-7 p.m.

The Tuscarawas Valley Farmers Market participates in several programs that assist qualifying individuals with the cost of purchasing fresh produce at the market including SNAP/Ohio Direction Card, Produce Perks, P-EBT (School Lunch Card), Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program and WIC.

Additionally, if you visit the market but don’t have cash, bring your credit or debit card to the market’s information booth to swipe and receive Carrot Cash tokens to spend anywhere at the market just like cash. Check out the guide posted on the home page at www.tvffm.org for detailed information about the different types of tokens, vouchers and other currency accepted at the market.
