AC-WH JVS BOE holds Oct. meeting

The Ashland County-West Holmes Joint Vocational School District Board of Education held a regular meeting in the board room on Oct. 19.
The board did the following during the meeting:
—Recognized September Student of the Month recipients Radalynn Mast, junior, animal vet tech, Hillsdale High School; Kamren Schaub, senior, animal vet tech, Mapleton High School; and Jetlynn Scott, adult education, medical assisting.
—Approved appropriation for Fund 508, Governor’s Emergency Relief Fund, in the amount of $5,004.68 and increased appropriation for Fund 200, Student Activities, by $5,300.
—Approved secondary advisory committees for the 2023-24 school year as required by ORC 3301-61-03.
—Accepted the following donations: $1,350 for gloves from Adena, $135 for water from Rayco, $450 for tape measures from Simonson Construction, $360 for pizza/Thursday from Spherion Mid-Ohio, $264 for pizza/Tuesday from Bo Lacey Construction, $315 for 500 pens from Sutton Bank, $150 from Comfort Control, $1,500 for goggles from Mid-Ohio Pipeline, $500 from NCWA, a $200 Visa gift card from Centerra, $150 in discounts on pizzas from Gionini’s Pizza and $500 from Charles River Laboratories.
—Adopted nine revised and two new board of education bylaws and policies as reviewed by the board policy committee and presented, to be effective Oct. 20.
—Approved an amendment to adult breakfast and lunch prices effective Oct. 20 as follows: breakfast at $2.15 and lunch at $4.35.
—Approved the resignation of Patrick Cucco, adult education career development lead, welding technology, effective June 30.
—Approved the employment of certified/classified personnel as substitutes.
—Approved the employment, supplemental 2023-24 school year, OX program, of the following: Dale Cable, Kathy Diederich, Shannon Donelson, Mike Earick, Nick Houmard, T.J. Houston, Anne Leidigh, Paul Liu, Mark Overlow, Jim Simmering, John Staats, Shawn Wade, Josh Welch and Amanda Young.
—Approved a supplemental contract for extended time, effective 2023-24 contract year, for Emily Harding, agriculture, AHS, five days.
