AC-WH JVS Board of Education holds Sept. meeting

The Ashland County-West Holmes Joint Vocational School District Board of Education held a regular meeting in the board room on Sept. 21.

The board did the following during the meeting:

—Adopted the FY24 permanent appropriations as presented.

—Accepted the following donations: Earl and Kathy Stitzlein, $10,000 for a new gator for the animal vet tech; Ashland County Sheriff’s Office, patrol SUV cruiser worth $4,400 for the criminal justice lab; Hammond Construction, $3,000 for gloves and goggles supplies; and Packaging Corporation of America, $1,250 for gloves and goggles supplies.

—Approved the employment of certified/classified personnel as substitutes.

—Revised the employment of Shelby Kane, assistant to the treasurer.

—Approved an out-of-state trip for Tod Fox, Ashland High School agriculture, to Indianapolis, Indiana.

—Approved GMP Amendment #2 to the construction manager at risk agreement and authorized the board president and treasurer to sign that GMP Amendment.

Other information

A fish fry will take place Thursday, Oct. 19 from 5-7 p.m.

The adult education fall advisory committee meetings will take place Oct. 19 at 6 p.m.

The secondary fall advisory committee meetings will take place the week of Oct. 22 at 6 p.m.

Parent/teacher conferences will take place Thursdays, Oct. 12 and 19 from 3-6 p.m.

The next board meeting is scheduled for Oct. 19 at 6 p.m.
