Telescope reveal party planned at artPARK

Commenting on the highly anticipated first images coming from NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope, Robbie Kehl, adult services coordinator at the Coshocton Public Library, said, “We will be able to see back into the early stages right after the Big Bang. We will see galaxies that are in their infant stage and are now over 12 billion years old.”

The evening’s scheduled includes:

8 p.m. – Make a universe shirt with Arty Bots, black light sensitive materials and your own t-shirt

8:45 p.m. – Universe watercolor painting demonstration by artist Carole Hunt.

9:15 p.m. – A little bit of background about the JWST presented by Robbie Kehl.

9:30 p.m. – James Webb Telescope Image Reveal/Black Light Party with chance to respond to the first images projected large on the artPARK wall by creating a watercolor with the help of Carole Hunt.

Guests might want to bring the following to this free event:

– If you went to Camp Invention this summer, bring your Arty Bot to share.

– Wear a dark t-shirt that will disappear under black light.
– A sense of wonder and your creative self.
