Summer dance series returns to the artPARK

The Pomerene (Pom) rolls out its second annual summer dance series on Friday, June 9, with returning favorite Flogo Shaggins. Music starts at 8 p.m. Dance instructor Tim Cohen will be out at 7 p.m. offering a free west coast swing crash-dance-class.

Flogo Shaggins is a Columbus funk band with a Coshocton connection (lead guitarist Tom Davis is a CHS graduate). Flogo Shaggins pays tribute to the great funk artists of the 60s and 70s and performs original funk/rock/psychedelic music.

Other events planned for the series so far are: June 23, Lake Park Big Band. Music starts at 8 p.m. with a 7 p.m., free waltz crash dance class with Tim Cohen; July 7, Yumbambe Latin Jazz. Music starts at 8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. free samba crash dance class with Tim Cohen; and July 21, TBA.

The Pom is partnering with the Coshocton Community Band to provide music downtown every Friday through July and Aug. 11.
