The Tuscarawas YMCA optional gymnastics team competed recently in Wooster at the Wayne County YMCA League Meet. The team took eight girls in levels six and seven against four other teams from Ashland, Cambridge, Riverfront and Wayne County.

High all-around scorers from the Tuscarawas team were Avery Worst (level seven) with 35.5 points and Jaycie Baker (level six) with 35.5 points. Taking first place in individual events were Samantha Courtney on vault and Lily Denney on floor.

Local gymnasts scoring a 9.0 or higher on individual events were Lily Denney on vault (9.0), bars (9.0) and floor (9.5); Samantha Courtney on vault (9.1) and floor (9.35); Jaycie Baker on vault (9.0) and floor (9.35); Avery Worst on floor (9.2); Landry Little on floor (9.4); Mia McPeek on floor (9.3); Auria McDaniel on floor (9.2); and Ayla Norman on floor (9.25).

Individual awards for level seven went to Avery Worst for third in vault, fourth in beam, fifth in bars and all around, and sixth in floor; Samantha Courtney for first in vault, third in floor, fifth in beam, seventh all around and ninth in bars; and Landry Little for second in floor, fifth in vault and beam, eighth in bars, and ninth all around.

Individual awards for level six went to Jaycie Baker for second in vault, third in floor and all around, fourth in beam, and sixth in bars; Lily Denney for first in floor, second in vault and bars, fifth all around, and ninth in beam; Auria McDaniel for fourth in bars, fifth in floor, seventh in vault and beam, and eighth all around; Ayla Norman for fourth in floor, fifth in vault, eighth in bars and beam, and ninth all around; and Mia McPeek for fourth in floor, sixth in bars, seventh in vault and beam, and ninth all around.

The Tuscarawas County YMCA gymnastics team traveled to Riverfront YMCA in Cuyahoga Falls on Saturday, Jan. 28 for a league compulsory meet involving the level three and four teams. The Tuscarawas team entered 14 level-three girls and 10 level-four girls. There was a total of 102 participants at the meet. The gymnasts competed on vault, bars, beam and floor exercise. Their combined individual scores became their all-around score.

High all-around scorers for the local team were Arli Waller (35.5 points) and Lily Endlich (35.025) for level three and Lucy Miller (33.2) and Rebekah Klasener (33.15) for level four. Those receiving first-place awards were Norelyz Duent on vault, floor and all around; Lucy Miller on beam; Arli Waller on floor; Vivian Denney on floor; and Lily Endlich on vault.

The Tuscarawas team had nine girls who earned a 9.0 or higher score on individual events: Lily Endlich on vault (9.0), beam (9.2) and floor (9.4); Vivian Denney on floor (9.5); Arli Waller on floor (9.5); Norelyz Duent on floor (9.35); Anna Bonvechio on floor (9.3); Aria Sanner on floor (9.2); Lucy Miller on beam (9.15); Jaylee Lute on floor (9.1); and Kinsley McDonald on floor (9.1).

Individual awards for level four went to Lucy Miller for first in beam and fifth in floor and all around; Rebekah Klasener for third in vault, fourth all around, fifth in bars and floor, and sixth in beam; Vivian Denney for first in floor, fourth in bars and fifth all around; Kinsley McDonald for third in beam and floor, fifth in vault and all around, and sixth in bars; Kendall Geers for third in vault, fifth in bars, and sixth in beam, floor and all around; Anna Bonvechio for fourth in vault and floor, fifth in bars and all around, and sixth in beam; Pressley Piccin for fourth in vault and bars; Layla Porter for fourth in beam and sixth in bars; Aria Sanner for second in vault and floor, fourth all around, and fifth in beam; and Gracyn Beaber for sixth in vault.

Individual awards for level three went to Lily Endrich for first in vault and second in beam, floor and all around; Arli Waller for first in floor and second in bars, beam and all around, and fourth in vault; Norelyz Duent for first in vault, floor and all around and third in floor; Jaylee Lute for second in beam, third in floor and all around, and fourth in vault; Ellie Horger for third in vault and bars, fifth in floor, and sixth in all around; Presley Lute for third in vault, fourth in floor and sixth in beam; Jillian Legg for fourth in floor and fifth in vault; Elizabeth Brantley for fourth in beam and fifth in floor; Skyler Kellerman for second in bars and fifth in vault and floor; Addison Lane for fifth in vault; and Kinley Reichman for second in vault.
