William K. Kenny Wills, 78, of the Riverside area at Uhrichsville, died suddenly Jan. 25, 2010, at Twin City Hospital, Dennison.A son of the late Herbert and Helen Wills, Kenny was born March 12, 1931, in Newcomerstown. As a young man, he served with the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War and throughout the remainder of his life would be quite proud of his country and service in which he had provided. Following his discharge, he went on to spend 30 years at the former I.F. Ridge Tool, New Philadelphia. He soon began working for Kent State University as a custodian and moved from there to serve as a custodian with the Claymont City School District for more than 10 years prior to retiring.Kenny was passionate about the game of golf but most of all enjoyed the fellowship of those he joined as a part of the Senior League at Five Waters Golf Course. When not golfing, he enjoyed walking his beloved dog, Sammy, and spending his mornings reading the newspaper and working through the daily crossword puzzles.Surviving are his wife, Erika Wills; stepsons, Mark Edwards of Canton and Greg (Holly) Edwards of Oakdale, Conn.; adopted son, Darrin Wills; sisters, June (Jack) Paisley of Dover, Sandy (Ken) Balder of New Philadelphia, Joanne (Ron) Kaser of Dover, and Diana (Joe) Yoakam of Ragersville; sister-in-law, Zera Wills of Mississippi; two stepgrandsons, Adam Barker and Jeremy Barker; two stepgreat-granddaughters, Ava and Arianna Barker; and numerous nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth Wills; brothers, Roy, John, Herbert E. Short, and Larry Wills; and sister, Shirley Haugh.Services will be held Jan. 28, 2010, at 7 p.m., at the Linn-Hert-Geib chapel, with Rev. Dr. Terry Timson officiating. In keeping with Kennys wishes, cremation will follow.
