The Dominic Greco Band begins concert season

The Dominic Greco Band, under the direction of Brian Botdorf, will begin its 2018 concert season on Sunday, May 27 at 6:30 p.m. on the main stage at the Canal Dover Festival.

The band also will perform on Memorial Day, May 28 at the Tuscora Park Amphitheater as part of the Summer Showcase Concert Series. The New Philadelphia concert will begin at 7 p.m.

The concerts will feature overtures, marches, movie themes and more, all with a patriotic theme to usher in the summer. Musical selections will highlight the band’s flute, trumpet and French horn sections while vocalist Ron Barkett will sing "The Battle Hymn of the Republic."

Due to longtime director Frederick Delphia’s retirement, the band will be directed by three conductors this season. April Linard and Cheryl Graham will share the baton with Botdorf at future concerts.

Botdorf is a graduate of Dover High School. He was a high school band director for 35 years.
