Shirley J. Waldron
Shirley J. Waldron, 69, of New Philadelphia, passed away Jan. 27, 2014. Shirley was born Nov. 21, 1944 in Dayton, Md., the daughter of the late Hardy and Dorothy (Johnson) Hungerford. After her graduation from high school, she attended Bible College and was Pentecostal by faith. In 2006, she retired from her career in the medical supply industry and moved to New Philadelphia to be closer to her children. Shirley was an avid poker player, and shortly after her retirement, she drove her convertible (with the top down for every single mile) to Las Vegas to compete in the World Series of Poker. She also enjoyed playing bingo.Shirley is survived by a daughter, Lori (Jeff) Lindamood of Uhrichsville; a son, Dean (LaDonna) Waldron of Bolivar; grandchildren, Bruce (Randall) Fox, Mark (Mallory) Fox, Nicole (Bob) Dorsey, Chance Waldron, Storm A.J. Waldron, Ace LaRue Waldron, Kate (Troy) Thompson and Valerie (Richard) Thompson; great-grandchildren, Cadence, Madison, Ella, Cecelia, Gage and Ryan; brothers, Tom (Shirley) Hungerford of Maryland and Bob (Sheila) Hungerford of Richmond, Va.; several nieces and nephews; and many dear friends, especially the women from her bible study group who were such a wonderful support.Services for Shirley, officiated by pastor Rod Phillips, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will follow in Uhrichsvilles Union Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday.
