Sara Louise Richards, 91, died June 20, 2013 at the Clarebridge Memory Care facility in The Villages, Fla.She was born in Akron Nov. 9, 1921 to Theodore and Beda Zeller. Sara grew up on the family farm near Glenmont and was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Glenmont where she was a faithful member of the church choir for many years. Sara graduated from Glenmont High School as Valedictorian of her senior class. She attended Ashland College and graduated from Akron Actual Business College. She was clerk for the Holmes County Engineer Department from 1953 to 1971.Sara’s love of singing led to her membership in the Sweet Adelines Barbershop Chorus. She would be asked to sing at various weddings and events in the area and continued to sing far into her later years. Sara is survived by her daughter, Lucinda (Dial) Williams, stepson Roger Richards (Syd), stepdaughter Nita Packe (Don) and stepdaughter Nancy Tousley (Terry). She will also be missed by 16 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.She is preceded in death by her parents, Ted and Beda Zeller, her brother, Jack Zeller (Mt. Vernon), and her husband, Wayne Richards. Her first husband, Robert Dial, preceded Sara in death also.Friends and relatives were invited to attend a farewell gathering at St. Johns United Church of Christ in Glenmont on Saturday, June 29 at 10:30 a.m. with Pastors Joanna Lance and Terry Tousley officiating. After interment at Sunnyside Cemetery, a light lunch was provided at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. John’s United Church of Christ, 136 Main St., Glenmont 44628. Arrangements are being handled by Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg.
