Ronald E. Weaver, age 81 of Barnhill, died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2018, in Community Hospice Truman House at New Philadelphia, following a period of declining health.

Born in Roanoke, Ronald was the son of the late Charles E. and Wilma E. Zurcher Weaver. He was a United States Navy veteran, serving during the Cuban Missile Crisis aboard both the U.S.S. Moale and the U.S.S. Harwood. He retired from Dover Chemical, where he worked as a chemical operator, and was a member of the Cathedral of Praise in Uhrichsville.

Surviving are his wife, Mildred I. Weaver of the residence; a daughter, Dena Hershberger of Beach City; a son, Tod (Candace) Weaver of Salem, Connecticut; daughters, Amy (Greg) Davis of Strasburg and Beth (Donald) Nape of Carrollton; a sister, Shirley (Richard) Schweitzer of Barnhill; brothers, Dale (Rose) Weaver of Elkton, North Carolina, Walt (Cathy) Weaver of Stone Creek, Mike (Lee) Weaver of Tuscarawas and Donald Weaver; and eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A brother and a sister also are deceased.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Dec. 10 at 11 a.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home at New Philadelphia with Pastor Dale Ickes officiating. Burial will be in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens at Dover, where the New Philadelphia VFW will conduct military honors. Visitation also will be held Monday from 10-11 a.m. in the funeral home.
