Richard Wade Alexander, age 62 of Orrville, died Dec. 17, 2018, at Orrville Pointe Nursing & Rehab Center in Orrville, following a 10-month illness.

Rick was born Jan. 18, 1956, in Millersburg, the son of Norman and Betty (Casey) Alexander. He was united in marriage to Wanda Ferguson. She preceded him in death.

Rick attended West Holmes High School and had been a resident of Texas the past 38 years, returning home due to an illness. He worked mainly as a diesel mechanic, as well as air-conditioning fabrication and for ABC auto parts delivery.

Rick enjoyed hunting, NASCAR, Cleveland Browns, music and weekend garage jam sessions.

Rick is survived by a daughter, Renee Alexander of Dallas, Texas; step children, Chris (Traci) Sellers of Arlington, Texas and Letha (Michael) Johnson of Colorado; sisters, Peggy (Lester) Shahan of Orrville and Laura Ashcraft of Killbuck; grandchildren, Landon and Kameron; step grandchildren, Devon, Breanna, Schylar, Shelby, Zackery and Gaven; and a step great-grandchild, Aiden.

In addition to his wife, Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Betty Ann Alexander.

There will be no public visitation or services. In keeping with his wishes, cremation will take place.
