The Holmes County planning commission reluctantly accepted the news that president Bob Boss will not renew his expiring term on the board. Arnie Oliver, planning commissioner, presented Boss with a gift card from the rest of the board.
“I’ve got plenty of other things going on to keep me busy,” Boss said, after the Wednesday, Dec. 16, meeting of the planning commission.
In his report to the commission, Oliver stated that the Holmes County Home and senior center window replacement projects are complete.
The Holmesville road resurfacing project is also complete. A Welcome to Holmesville sign is being constructed, and a project to plant 17 trees along Market Street is underway.
The bids on the 10 Millersburg homes that are to be demolished and are part of the Neighborhood Stabilization Program were rejected and the project will be rebid. All the properties will need to be tested for asbestos.
Oliver also reported that funds are still available for one additional homebuyer project. The Holmesville village owner rehab project preconstruction is underway.
The commission is currently ranking each qualifying home according to priority of need. No construction will begin until January, 2010. Six applications were submitted for three slotted projects.
The subdivision review of Rosan Farms, located in Salt Creek Township on the west side of TR 603, was approved. All applications were filed with the review agencies and the property is accessed by an easement.
