Photo show to close with public reception

The Tuscarawas County Amateur Photographic Association in partnership with the Tuscarawas County Center for the Arts announced the 2019 awards for the annual photography contest and exhibition.

More than 125 photographs were submitted for display and review. Three jurors selected 22 photographs to receive awards in five categories: Color, Black & White, Nature, Land/Cityscape and Miscellaneous.

The following artists were honored with awards:

Scott Morrison, Best of Show Black & White and Honorable Mention Land/Cityscape; Susan Cramer Stein, Best of Show Color, first place in Nature, two Honorable Mentions in Land/Cityscape and Honorable Mention in People; Deborah Morrison, first and second place People, first place and Honorable Mention Black & White, first and second place Miscellaneous, first and second place Land/Cityscape, and Honorable Mention Nature; Jeff Bray, second place Black & White and Honorable Mention People; Charlie Snyder, Honorable Mention Miscellaneous; and Michelle Wittensoldner, second place Nature and two Honorable Mentions Land/Cityscape.

The exhibition is presently on display in the Foland Gallery of the Tuscarawas County Center for the Arts, 461 Robinson Drive SE, New Philadelphia. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. Admission is free, but donations are appreciated.

The show will close with a free public reception on Saturday, Jan. 26 from 1-3 p.m. Refreshments and music by Christine Rober will be provided. The exhibition is sponsored in part by the Ohio Arts Council, Lauren International, the Kimble Family Foundation, the Tuscarawas County Community Foundation and Troyer & Associates.
