Peggy Lou Swartzentruber, 73, of New Philadelphia, died Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, in her home after a lengthy illness.Born May 8, 1940, at Stone Creek, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Kathryn Miller Lehman. Peggy attended school at Stone Creek, and, as a young lady, went to work for Union Hospital in Dover. There she met her future husband, Ervin Swartzentruber. The couple were wed Nov. 3, 1962 – they had just celebrated their 51st anniversary.Peggy was a longtime member of the Foursquare Gospel Church in Dover, and had served as the churchs custodian for more than 30 years. She loved baking pies, cakes and cookies, and was always up to trying a new recipe. Peggy liked tending to the flowers around her home as well, and was especially fond of yellow marigolds. In later years, one of her greatest joys was spending time with her grandson, Zack.In addition to her loving husband, Ervin, Peggy is survived by her two daughters, Sue Ann Raber of Robertsville, and Carol A. (Bill) Nedrow of Dover; her grandson, Zackerie Nedrow; her four sisters, Laura Marie (Paul) Morckel of Robertsville, Edith Mardell Lahmers of East Sparta, Bessie (Wayne) Bissell of Dover, and Audrey (Solomon Eicher) Green of Dundee; her two brothers, Roger (Janice) Lehman of East Canton, and Chester Chuck (Cathy) Lehman of Stone Creek; Ervins sisters and brothers and their spouses; and her many nieces and nephews.Besides her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by infant twin brothers; her three brothers, Dale, Robert and Theodore Lehman; and her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Nellie and Enos Swartzentruber.Family and friends were invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, 803 N. Wooster Avenue, Dover, Monday, Dec. 16 from 5-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastors Dennis Shearer, David Wing and Ron May officiating. Immediately following the service, there will be a luncheon at the Foursquare Gospel Church.
