Orrville Public Library’s children’s staff has been recording its summer story times, some of them at off-site locations. Be sure to check the library’s YouTube channel for the recordings. Each Monday through Aug. 9, a new story time will be posted.

Fun with animals

Wayne County is home to a lot of farms and farm animals. Kids are invited to stop by Orrville Public Library Children’s Department during the week of July 19 to participate in a farm animal matching game.

During the week of July 26, people are invited to use the library’s craft supplies to create their version of the perfect animal. All activities are in the children’s department, and no registration is necessary.

Animal trivia

Is it true ants never sleep? Can an elephant jump? Is there a breed of dog that doesn’t have a pink tongue? Kids grades 1-6 are invited to participate in Orrville Public Library’s Weird & Wacky Animals trivia event.

This free Zoom event will begin at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, July 27. Registration is required and began on Monday, July 12, with a maximum of 20 participants. Participants also will need to stop by the library prior to the event to check out a dry erase board that is needed for the program.

What are you reading?

Join Orrville Public Library staff on Facebook to catch the latest Book Buzz. The group will meet on Tuesday, Aug. 3 at 8 p.m. to talk about the books everyone has been reading and to get suggestions for new reads.

No registration is necessary. For more information call the library at 330-683-1065.

Page Parade

Explore Orrville Public Library while following its Page Parade. The pages of “Where the Wild Things Are” by Maurice Sendak have been placed on poster boards throughout the building. The whole family will have fun going from location to location to read the book, ending in the children’s department. This free event will be held during the week of Aug. 2, and no registration is necessary.
