Vera M. McGrath, 90, formerly of Sugarcreek, died April 27, 2012, at Hennis Care Centre, Dover.Vera was born Nov. 10, 1921, in Sugarcreek, to the late Daniel and Iva Armbrust. She worked at Alsco and the Sugarcreek Bowling Alley Restaurant for many years and attended Sugarcreek United Methodist Church and Sugarcreek Church of the Brethren. She bowled in many leagues and was a Tuscarawas County Hall of Fame Bowler.Vera is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Jessie) Cline of North Carolina; sons, Dave (Gloria) McGrath of Dover and Dennis (Kathy) McGrath of Steubenville; grandchildren, Angie (Rob) Gump, Tracy McGrath, and Jessie Jay (Allison) Cline; great-grandchildren, Alicia, Emily, Austin, Chandler, and Lucas; and brothers, Edward Armbrust and Francis Armbrust.She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam McGrath; sisters, Grace, Mary, Bernice, Lucille, and Pauline; and brothers, Palmer, Ray, and Carl.Public graveside services were held April 30, in Union Hill Cemetery, Sugarcreek.Arrangements were handled by Smith-Varns Funeral Home, Sugarcreek.
