Joan E. Vlad, 86, of Dover, died Sept. 16, 2011, at Union Hospital.Born Oct. 1, 1924, in Uhrichsville, Joan was a daughter of the late Delmar and Merle Cree. She retired from Dover Molded Products after 14 years of service and was a member of First United Methodist Church, Dover, and the Dover Women of the Moose.A wonderful and loving mother and grandmother, Joan will be sadly missed by her children, Laurinda Gribble, Melanie Vlad, and Valerie (Jeff) Mullen, all of Dover, and John (Sheryl) Vlad of New Philadelphia; grandchildren, Shawn (Becky) Gribble, Heather Gribble, Brandon (Nicole) Vlad, and Valine Mullen; and great-grandchildren, Justus, Jaylyn, and Timberly Gribble.She was preceded in death by her husband, John Vlad; sister, Eloise Morris; and brothers, Edwin and Stanley Cree.Services will be held Sept. 20, at 7 p.m., at Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover, with Pastor Brian Flood officiating. Friends can call from 5-7 p.m.Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice.
