Barbara Davis Matronia, 59, of Dover, died suddenly July 3, 2011, at her home.Born March 20, 1952, in Canton, Barbara was the daughter of the late Frank Sam Sr. and Marjorie Davis. A graduate of Canton South High School and Kent State University, she was a retired social worker, having worked with Tuscarawas County Job & Family Services.Barbara enjoyed gardening, decorating around the home, and was known as an excellent cook.Sept. 18 would have marked the 40th wedding anniversary with her husband, Earl Matronia, who survives. Other surviving family members include a son, John (Jessica) Matronia of Dover; daughter, Regina Matronia of Canton; grandchildren, Clair Zuchegno, Xeelia Matronia, Christopher Mathias, and Mason Matronia; great-grandson, Kayden Mathias; brothers, Frank Sam Davis Jr., and Mike (Sherry) Davis and Tom (Sandra) Davis, both of Columbus; and many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lesli A. Matronia Zuchegno; and father-in-law, Derald Powell.Services celebrating her life will be held July 8, at 1 p.m., at Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, New Philadelphia. Burial will follow in Dover Burial Park.
