LeRoy H. Heinz, 88, of Orrville, died July 27, 2010, at Orrville Pointe, following a period of declining health.LeRoy was born Nov. 9, 1921, in Peoria, Ill., to the late Gottlieb and Mabel Heinz. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and drove truck on the Red Ball Highway in Germany with the 2246th QM Truck Company. He was a former truck driver for Sears and then for PIE Trucking Company for over 21 years, retiring in 1980.He was a member of Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Seville, Wadsworth Eagles 2117 for 64 years, Wadsworth VFW 1089, and Retired Teamsters Fellowship Club.Surviving are his wife, Bettie Maxine Heinz, whom he married in 1959; stepdaughter, Shirley (Clarence Jr.) Cummings of Lubbock, Texas; grandchildren, Tonya (Dennis) Carter of Wooster, Teresa (Timothy) Housel of Holland, Mich., Jaime (Sarah) Jaime Jr. of Massillon, and Sharlia (Ryan) Maurer of Canton; great-grandchildren, A.J. and Shaunna Carter and Nicholas Jaime; former son-in-law, Jaime E. Jaime Sr. of North Canton; brothers-in-law, Gene (June) Kanniard, Dick Kanniard, Harold (Mary) Kanniard, and William Kanniard; sisters-in-law, Irene Kanniard, Catherine (Fred) Craley, Evelyn Hedrick, Dorothy (Dick) Hill, Ruth Davis, and Pauline (Dave) Davis; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.He was preceded in death by a son, Clifford J. Heinz; brother, Clifford J. Heinz; brothers-in-law, Robert and John Kanniard; and sister-in-law, Doris Kanniard.Services were held July 31, 2010, at Auble Funeral Home, Orrville, with Elane Boggs officiating.
