Hallie M. Shott, 84, of New Philadelphia, died peacefully April 24, 2010, at Union Hospital, with her family at her side.Born Oct. 7, 1925, in Uhrichsville, Hallie was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Hallie Everett. She attended school at New Philadelphia and will be remembered as a talented artist and seamstress. She doted on her grandchildren and enjoyed baking her famous sticky rolls, a talent she honed at the former Everett Bakery, operated by her uncle and father. She also delighted playing cards, planting flowers, and perusing yard sales, in search of an addition to her glass basket collection.Surviving are children, John A. (Dottie) Shott II of New Philadelphia, Sally A. (James) Wherley of Stone Creek, and Albert Abe A. (Sharon) Shott and Debra K. (Rodney) Lesjak, both of New Philadelphia; 12 grandchildren; 22 great- and stepgreat-grandchildren; brother, Larry (Mary) Everett; and sister, Elizabeth (Bill) Waltz.She was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Shott, whom she married in 1946; a great-grandchild; and brother, Jack Everett.Cremation is planned without visitation or services.Memorial services will be held May 9, 2010, at 4:30 p.m., at Grace Community Church, Stone Creek.
