Pearl O. Simmons, 90, died Dec. 30, 2009, at Canon Hospice, Metairie, La., following a short illness. She resided with her only son, Robin (Rose) Simmons, and was formerly of Glenmont, where she lived most of her life.Pearl was born Oct. 10, 1919, in Buckhannon, W.Va., to the late Hugh and Anna Thomas.Surviving are a son, Robin Simmons; grandsons, Robert Simmons, Charles (Christy) Simmons, and Michael (Tuesday) Simmons, all of New Orleans, La.; four great-grandchildren; and sister, Ona Phillips of Buckhannon, W.Va.She was preceded in death by her husband, Esley Simmons.Graveside services will be held April 10, 2010, at 11 a.m., in Sunnyside Cemetery, Glenmont, with Rev. Joanna Lance officiating.Arrangements are being handled by Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg.
