Fern R. Duncan, 85, of Millersburg, died March 8, 2010.Fern was born April 25, 1924, in Fresno, Calif., to the late Royal and Zenith Alexander. She attended Rio Grande College and graduated from Ashland University with a degree in teaching. She taught at several schools throughout the area including Chester, Killbuck, Shreve, Triway Junior High School, and finally Carroll Christian Academy in Maryland. She was a member of Millersburg United Methodist Church and a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother. She was a friend to all and loved her family dearly. She was involved in the Sweet Adelines and enjoyed playing the organ and watching sports.Surviving are children, David (Debbie), Leroy (Marie), Mark (Laura), and Jim (Sandy); brother, Royal Alexander; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband, John P. Duncan, whom she married in 1950.Graveside services were held March 13, 2010, in Sherwood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel, Wooster, with Rev. Thomas Jones officiating.Arrangements were handled by Roberts Funeral Home Sherwood Chapel, Wooster.
