Joanne Homan Shroyer, age 86 of Hennis Care Centre at Dover, died Friday, June 22, 2018, following a period of declining health.

A daughter of the late Byron C. and Ella (Johnson) Moore, Joanne was born at Dover on Oct. 24, 1931.

Joanne was a graduate of New Philadelphia High School and was employed for many years as a home health aide and for several stores in the former Monroe Mall.

Joanne was an avid clog dancer who enjoyed finding great bargains at yard sales, playing Bridge, roller skating and walking at Tuscora Park.

Joanne will be missed by her children, Mark (Nancy) Homan of New Philadelphia, Marsha (Patrick) Henninge of Dover and Patrick Homan of Cuyahoga Falls; her grandchildren, Amanda Homan of New Philadelphia, Christopher Henninge of Pennsylvania and Cody (Brianne) Henninge of Canton; two great-grandchildren, Neiko and Rayme Henninge; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Joanne was preceded in death by her siblings, Dorothy Maurer and Richard Moore; her former husband, Robert Homan; and her second husband, Wilmer Shroyer.

A memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, July 1 in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover from 1-3 p.m., where Pastor Brian Flood will lead a memorial service at 3 p.m. A meal and fellowship will follow in the hospitality room of the Dover Geib Center. A private inurnment will take place in the East Avenue Cemetery at a later date.
