Holidays a little brighter for some area children

Published Modified

The Wayne County Women’s Network held their annual Give a Teddy Bear a Home event recently at Montavino’s. Members and guests alike brought all shapes and sizes of teddy bears to be distributed to area children to make their holidays a little brighter.
The evening was filled with laughter and sharing. Traci Hanger-Hoffman, event planner and organizer, had a microphone ready for each member and guest willing to share about her business and/or any upcoming charity events. Kathy Watson and Carole Norris, both part of a local singing group, put everyone in the mood by singing a Christmas song together.
Announcements included upcoming Women’s Network events, beginning with Lunch with a Notable Woman, featuring Brenda Linnick, executive director of the United Way of Wayne and Holmes Counties, Thursday, Jan. 7, at 11:30 a.m., at the Wooster Inn. Contact Kathi Bond, 330-683-3375, to reserve a space.
A combined effort of the Women’s Network and the Orrville/Dalton YMCA will take place Tuesday, Jan. 19, at 7 p.m., at the Orrville YMCA. The free event, What Women Want for 2010, is back by popular demand, with some new twists. Dr. Kathleen Fearon, DO, will speak about Women Want Wellness, along with psychotherapist Traci Hanger-Hoffman, who will talk about Be Who You Are. The evening will end with belly dancing demos (participation optional).
An announcement was made to promote the Ladies Cruise for Cancer, departing Tampa, Fla., for five nights, beginning Oct. 16, 2010. Contact Christine Beichler, at 330-863-8800, for more details or to reserve a space.
