Finley now Dalton’s mayor

Dennis Finley is ready to begin his work as the new mayor of the Village of Dalton. Finley assumed office on Jan. 1, and the first thing on his agenda is to bring the community together.

“The biggest thing I have to do is reunify our community,” he said prior to taking the oath of office on Friday, Dec. 27 at the Wayne County Administration Building. “There is a lot of division right now. I have to do things in order to bring this community back together.”

Finley knows it won’t happen overnight and won’t be easy. But he feels his experience as a member of the village council, a member of the board of public affairs and a two-term member of the Dalton school board will help him accomplish his goal.
