Duncan Theater back in action, taking on a new form of entertainment

After years of dormancy, the marquee at the old Killbuck Duncan Theater recently lit up the night sky once again, not highlighting the upcoming showing of Jaws, or The Godfather or the newest Batman movie, but rather showing off an event of a totally different kind.New owner Nick Pahoundis has turned the old theater and movie rental building into an events venue, open to anyone wishing to host a party, reunion, fundraisers, reception or pretty much any kind of event that fits under a roof. The inaugural event was a celebration of a local Baltic couple, and more than 200 guests attended the marriage ceremony and reception, which included a live band, plenty of movie props, and in old-fashioned movie theater style, their names were highlighted on the marquee, as well as featuring their photo in the Coming Soon attractions window in front of the theater.Pahoundis said that the inaugural event would never have come to fruition without the aid of the community, as he offered his thanks to P&G IGA, Killbuck Church of Christ, Killbuck Village Council and the Killbuck Village maintenance department for playing roles in bringing the iconic building back to life.
