Donley N. Hostutler, 77, of Dover died Friday, August 1, 2014 in Community Hospice House at New Philadelphia.Born August 9, 1936 at Big Run, W.Va., he was a son of the late Russell Hostutler and Frosty (Williams) Kirkpatrick. Donley attended school in Wetzel County, W.Va., and moved to Ohio in 1962 when he married the former Rachel Church Jan. 27 of that year. He was employed by the city of Dover Electric Field Division for more than 30 years, retiring in 1998.Donley was a member of the National Insulator Association for 40 years. He enjoyed hunting as a young man, and he fished in the Tuscarawas River and the Muskingum Lakes until recently, when his health no longer allowed him to do so. Among his other favorite pastimes were looking for morels, going to auctions and garage sales, and collecting golf balls.He is survived by his wife, Rachel; his two daughters, Shirley Stoneham of Englewood, Fla., and Sherry Bathori (Nick) of Wilmington; his son, Jeffrey Hostutler of Raritan, N.J.; his grandson, Jeffrey Hostutler; his half sisters, Josephine Streley of Hopedale, Dessie Kirkpatrick of New Martinsville, W.Va., Pansy Rush of Piney, W.Va., Joy Kuhn of Hundred, W.Va., and Donna Willoughby of Pine Grove, W.Va.; his half brothers, Arles Kirkpatrick of New Cumberland, W.Va., and John Kirkpatrick of Florida; his sister-in-law, Kathy Kirkpatrick Mansells of New Cumberland, W.Va., and his many nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, Donley was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Fox, and his brother, Arthur Kirkpatrick.Family and friends called Sunday, August 3, from 5-8 p.m., at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover. A funeral service will be held Monday, August 4, at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Richard Rose of the Dover Alliance Church officiating. Burial will be in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens, Dover.
