Donald L. Reichman
Donald L. Reichman, age 90 of New Philadelphia, died in Community Hospice’s Truman House at New Philadelphia on Nov. 22, 2018.
Born July 8, 1928, in the family home at Uhrichsville, Donald was the son of the late Maxwell and Bertha E. Milburn Reichman.
Donald, a life resident of Tuscarawas County, retired in 1991 from UPS. He was a member of Broadway United Methodist Church, American Legion Post 139, Mystic Tie Lodge 194 and 32nd Degree Mason in the Valley of Canton. He served on the board of Twin City Hospital and held office for 20 years as fiscal officer for Union Township. He proudly served his country in the Korean War. He enjoyed traveling, golf and working in the yard and dearly loved his cat, Tweedy.
Donald was married on June 20, 1954, to Anna Louise Reed Reichman, who died June 14, 1978. Together they raised two children, Thomas L. (Teresa) Reichman and Barbara L. (Bob) Fouts, both of Dennison.
Donald is survived by six granddaughters, Britney Fouts, Courtney (Mike) Gribble, Anna Reichman, Leah Reichman, Dr. Jenna (Justin) Pulling and Sarah Reichman, and three great-grandchildren.
On March 2, 1979, Donald married the former Maxine Thomas, who survives. Also surviving are three step-daughters, Cheryl (John) Hicks, Karen (Bear) Schwartz and Amy (Rob) Upton; step-grandchildren, Kristen (Darby) Boltz, Ashley (Scott) Beach, Lauren (Jason) Blackburn and R.J. Upton; and three step-great-grandchildren.
Donald had a special place in his heart for three nieces, Shirley Anderson, Mary Lou (Larry) Bente and Jane Brown, and one nephew, Charles Reichman.
In addition to his parents and first wife, Donald was preceded in death by his two brothers, Earl and Frank Reichman, and sisters, Thelma Anderson and Millie Vernon Wolf.
The family will receive guests on Tuesday, Nov. 27 in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia from 10-11 a.m. Mr. Dale Fincher will lead a service celebrating Donald’s life in the funeral home’s chapel at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Pleasant Valley Cemetery at Dennison.
